- Yeast - 2 + 1/4 tsp
- Salt - 1 + 1/4 tsp
- For egg wash: 1 egg + 1 tbsp of milk
Instructions:
- In the warm milk, add sugar and active dry yeast. Whisk together and let it sit for about
5 minutes until yeast looks foamy. For instant yeast, you can skip this step and
mix it right into other ingredients.
- Combine all of the ingredients in the bowl of your mixer
Wisk the egg, add the salt, oil, and flour. Add foamy yeast/instant yeast.
- Knead the dough with the hook attachment in a stand mixer for 3 minutes on low speed
or knead by hand until smooth, about 5-10 minutes.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with plastic wrap and let it rise
for about 1.5 hours in a warm place or until doubled in size.
- Once the dough rises, punch down dough to remove gas. Turn it out onto a lightly floured
surface and cut it into 15 pieces.
- Roll each piece of dough into a ball and place them onto a baking dish.
- Cover the rolls with plastic wrap and let them rise for 45 minutes
in a warm place or until doubled in size, I placed mine in the microwave with the light on.
- Brush tops of rolls with egg wash.
- Egg wash: 1 Egg, half a cup of milk, brown sugar till desired constancy, 1-2 tablespoons.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Bake until golden brown on top, about 15-20 minutes.
- Set aside to cool to room temperature before serving.
